Time Spent With Friends

Time spent with friends is seldom wasted, and this weekend was no different. My best friends are my world! Unfortunately, a year ago, I left the city they all live in, in search of a better career in another city. So now I get to meet them maybe once or twice a year, and every such instance becomes cause for celebration and happiness!

I met them this weekend, and that’s what today’s poem is about.

Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!

Soft raindrops make lovely sounds
with lush fields near and far.
Conversations all around,
beneath the twinkling stars.

A festival, a joyous scene,
delight flows through the air.
Plans are made, then tossed, I mean,
why plan when friends are there?

The world is full of meaning
and the joy just never ends.
Nothing beats the feeling
of a weekend spent with friends.

Surprises bloom like summer flowers,
old memories gladly shared.
Laughter rings through late night hours,
with food beyond compare.

Our bellies full, our spirits high,
delight is just the theme.
With friendship's warmth that cannot die,
the world a joyful dream.

The world is full of meaning
and the joy just never ends.
Nothing beats the feeling
of a weekend spent with friends.
