A few months ago, I chose to move to a new city - Gurgaon. That choice led to many adventures. I had documented my move as part of a few poems on Hello Universe, and loved the encouragement and support I received from you, dear reader.
Turns out, I am moving yet again!
This move comes with a new job, new people, and a new reality. It is a crazy new adventure and I have no idea how it will play out. Many new experiences now await me with open arms. A whole new world. Boundless potential. Unlimited energy.
This excitement for the future is tampered slightly by two feelings.
A feeling of separation from the first ever company that I worked at. It was an 8 year-long engagement that made me into the person that I am today.
A feeling of separation from my friends who turned my life into one giant party in the last 6 months. I loved living in Gurgaon and I will miss being there with them.
Now here I am, in a new company - meeting new colleagues, learning about a new way of life. Here I am meeting friends who live in this city - Bangalore, finding out how they party. Here I am looking for a new home, a new place to belong.
During my move back in August, I had written a poem illustrating my trepidations and aspirations. It captured my state of mind very well back then, and continues to feel exactly as relevant even today. So that’s the poem I’m re-publishing. Hope you like reading it again.
Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!
I wonder about my future, I wonder about my past. I wonder about the mold, in which I'll be cast. I wonder about my journey, the people I'll meet. And sometimes I wonder, what'll be my new work seat! I wonder on and on again, and that's how time flies. But one thing's for certain - that surely, I'll rise.
That’s it! Thanks for reading edition 101 of Hello Universe!

Some Fun Stuff
This is a place where I recommend read-worthy, hum-worthy, and watch-worthy content from across the internet. The underlined words are links that you can click to access my suggestions:
1. Read about Cistercian numerals : A strange ancient number system that is super handy when talking about large numbers. Humanity works in such cool ways!
2. Listen to “Never Mess With Sunday” by Yppah: A super relaxing, contemplative track that goes well with today’s poem!
3. Watch “Odd Compass” on Youtube : An informative channel dealing with historic topics. It’s super light, entertaining, and informative. This episode about “Romani” and “Sinti” gypsy tribes having Indian origins blew my mind.
That’s it for this week. See you next Tuesday!
Exciting changes! Good luck at the new job and I hope the move goes smoothly!
