Derailed Plans

Last week came with a massive setback that derailed some cool plans I had put in motion. It was obviously very frustrating and did not feel very good at all.

I sat and moped for a while, cursing my luck. Cursing all the poor advice I received. Cursing every silly decision I made.

But then…

I realized that I’m an almost-30-year-old adult responsible for his own life. So I decided to stop moping and just watch some TV.

I did that.

Then I started moping again.

Then I decided to stop moping and play some video games.

I did that too.

And then I started moping again, albeit a bit less this time.

I made some music. Forced myself to take a nap. Went for an aimless walk. And slowly but steadily, without even thinking about it, I saw the outlines of some backup plans starting to emerge. 😀

Now these backup plans may or may not work 🤷‍♂️. But just the act of not fixating on a problem was something new for me because I am a hyper-worrier and usually nitpick and dissect problems endlessly.

So yes, that’s what today’s poem is about. It is also a video, but I’ve made those before so nothing new to report on that front. 😇

I think this final 30 second video from the team is a great sign-off to the legacy of the heart-warming adventures that they took us on in the Ice Age movies. Love you Scrat ❤ 📺
