I was born in 1959....a bohemian wanna to be. My husband in 1946....a hippie. My son who was born in 1997 is the joy of my life. He has a dry sharp sense of humor and is amazingly well read and great conversationalist. The other day when we were talking he says to me, people say I am from the entitled generation but that's not what I see. It's your generation that is always asking if you get a discount or wish to have your food prepared differently from the menu." He's right, Lol.

Great post! I grew up in the 80s and 90s, and gosh, it was wonderful/exciting/scary/awful/overwhelming/perfect. I'm glad that my childhood tech only amounted to a Sinclair ZX81 computer, a Game & Watch and an Atari games console.

The world is so big and fast now. On the one hand I feel as if I've grown along with it... on the other, well, it's overtaken me altogether!

Such a thought-provoking poem, Punit. Thank you!

Born during the Great Depression in 1934. Aware as a child of the serious fight against the Axis to save the world...WW11...How relieved America was, when it was over in 1945. People thought it was the end of all wars. Peace & quiet until 1950. We had some nice years. No drugs! No TV! No medical interference in our lives! Few in the 1950s depended on doctors. People were healthier than they are now. My current barbaracharis substack.com Spiritual Nutrition: Positive Thoughts in Today's Negative World It covers Rudyard Kipling"s IF, Henley's Invictus and Paul G Clancy's unnamed poetry. Poetry is food for the soul. .Thanks again for your thoughtful poem...about children who grew up in different time periods...and how they turned out. Having four children...spanning from 1956 - 1976...I noted how they were affected by the times they lived in.
