Happy belated chip off the ol' telomere day! "Hello Universe" brings to mind that ancient tradition of storytelling, perhaps best exemplified (IMHO) by Carl Sagan's ability to masterfully communicate our place in the universe. "Hello Universe" is community, brain food, and chicken soup for the soul all mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie!
On that note, I offer you a puppet sketch on Sagan's classic assertion that "if you want to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6702kRYz4sQ
A Waitress / Carl Sagan musical crossover would be something to behold 😂
Nita! I was just going through the comments on past editions, and found myself here. Lo and behold, I had not gotten back to such a thoughtful and kind comment from you. I am delighted to see what Hello Universe means to you. My apologies on not getting back sooner, and I am humbled that my words make you think of Sagan in some way. Thank you! 🤗
I was just reading through the comments on my past editions and came across this interaction. Wanted to share my thanks with you for the feature. I loved it!
That must make today your birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! HAPPY NEW DECADE! Yay. Loved the poem, and your bread looks super delicious! Funnily, there was another poet celebrating a birthday with a substack newsletter issue this week, but with a completely different take on it. Funny to see people change perspective as the birthdays come and go. Just remember: every day is another reason to celebrate. Here's the other birthday poet: https://shotsandthoughts.substack.com/p/birthday-bubbles?s=r
Progress :) you've come so far my friend, I've seen you grow and evolve over the past few years, and it's been a pleasure seeing you take the journey. Happy Birthday in advance, hope this one's a happy one!
I read the newsletter because it is fun and reminds me of many people that I have known but never met (sitting in the U.S. in IT, with a large staff of developers in India - apologies since I don't even know where you are from). So lighthearted tech bringing good feelings.
Mick it is so sweet of you to share these feelings. I'm glad I can make you think of my brethren, and yes, I do live in India so your feelings are well placed.
Joy & gratitude.
Happy birthday! Spoiler alert: your 40’s will be pretty cool. 😎
Kevin! The 40's seem far away but I'm sure they'll be here in the blink of an eye 😬
Faster than you think, my friend. 😎
Happy Birthday! Each edition makes me smile, finding something new to be happy with. Thanks!
Aaron it makes me so happy to read this feedback. Thank you!
