Happy holidays! The year comes to a close and brings with it an opportunity to reflect and engage with who you were and who you are becoming. I am reflecting through the poetry I wrote in 2023, and republishing some of my favorite ones.
Today’s poem was written as a reflection on the kind of people I like to spend my time with. Who they are, what they do, and why they mean so much to me.
Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!
They're gentle as the morning dew.
They're always out to play.
They're fragrant as the flowers new.
Their truth is what they say.
They think about the world at large.
They seek the hidden clue.
They hang out at concerts and parks.
Delight is their pursuit.
They make hay when the sun does shine.
Their wisdom they impart
And when they stumble over the line,
they mend their broken heart.
They strive with noble ardour still
they trust and they commit.
They touch each spring, they scale each hill
they climb to the summit.
They charm the souls of all they meet
by simply being themselves.
They love this world, they make it sweet.
My people are the best!
That’s it! Thanks for reading edition 143 of Hello Universe.

This is a place where I recommend read-worthy, hum-worthy, and watch-worthy content from across the internet. The underlined words are links that you can click to access my suggestions:
1. Read about Psychedelic Cryptography: Patterns and visuals that are unlocked only if you’re on psychedelics. Our world is so strange.
2. Listen to Take No Ko by Makoto San: This one’s surely playing in my new year’s party. Total banger.
3. Get a casual explanation of different types of AI: One of the funniest channels on Youtube, Casually Explained shows up three or four times a year to make me laugh out loud with his dry humor. This one is no different. Check it out!
Alright, that’s it for 2023. See you in 2024! Thank you for being the best part of my life this year. You are my people.
Loved this poem the first time, and still do. And how your people are, is a reflection of you, my friend.
I LOVE that Také No Ko song. Thanks for sharing that.
A lovely post, Punit! I've spent this evening catching up on several days of missed reading, and I'm so glad to have found this lovely poem in my inbox. Thank you - and happy 2024 to you!
