These days I’m spending time in the city I grew up in. Going back to one’s roots brings back a flood of memories. Today’s poem is about one set of such sweet memories.
Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!
Upon a giant bicycle, I go to school each day. Dad tells lovely stories as he pedals on our way. 🏡 🚲 Then, bigger now, I board the bus, with Mom there by my side. We chat and laugh the whole way there, my worries she unties. 👩🏻 💬 👦🏻 Older still, I’ve got my own— a bicycle so new. My sister rides along with me, right off to school, us two. 🚲 👧🏻 🚲 👦🏻 I'm tiny now, but when I grow, I'll often think of this. This time spent on the way to school, is fun, is love, is bliss! 😇 😇

This is where I share something cool to read, something cool to listen to, and something cool to watch! The underlined words are links that you can click to visit the recommended content.
1. Check out Radioglobe: A chill website to play any radio station of your choice from across the world. I love listening to Bayern 3 from Germany and Afrobeats Gospel Radio from Nigeria! Check it out!
2. Listen to Baiana by Bakermat: This one’s an absolute banger, I love the hard drums and the funk vibe with the saxophone. It totally rocked my Diwali party and you should play it in your next party too!
3. Watch The Strange Business of Icecream by Modern MBA: Modern MBA is a no-nonsense channel covering diverse businesses with deep insights. I especially love how this channel has pivoted from sharing secondary insights on industries to now adding their own primary interviews with new, up and coming businesses to show the sparks of innovation in traditional industries. It’s a great video, super informative AND entertaining, a hard combination to crack. Check it out now!
That’s it for this week, see you next Tuesday!
Memories of your childhood is a big treasure of my life ❣️❣️
Great poem! Here is a nice memory from my childhood: I was ten years old, sleeping over at a friend’s house. His mom let us set up our pup tent in the backyard. In the chill of the night we lay silently side by side, sleepless in our sleeping bags, our hands folded across our hearts. We stared wide-eyed into the shadows of the new strange space that surrounded us. Our imaginations ran wild. When I woke up my friend was snuggled up close to me, like a couple of spoons in a drawer. https://liveyosemite.wordpress.com/2024/07/18/heart-songs/
