The ultrahot Indian summer of 2022 rages on.
As I struggle to maintain enough hydration and jump from air-conditioned room to air-conditioned room, I've been wondering how I ever survived summers before AC's were a reality in my life!
This train of thought led me to memories of my childhood. Our home back then had an open terrace at the top. It was a summer tradition to clean up the terrace every evening. We would spread our mattresses, put down our pillows, and lie down under the dark sky.
The light summer breeze, the twinkling stars, and the beautiful moon were amazing companions to a good night's sleep.
That was also when my fascination with the moon kicked into high gear! I used to spend hours just gazing at it and wondering what adventures my life had in store for me. To top it off, once I read the two part Tintin moon adventures - "Destination Moon" and "Explorers on the Moon", I started dreaming of hop skip and jumping on the moon just like those cool characters.
In fact, back in 2020, I sketched out this panel from "Explorers on the Moon" on my tablet and made it my wallpaper.
Send me a screenshot in case you make it your wallpaper too! 😀
All this thinking about the moon naturally inspired me to write a poem about it. So that's what I'm sharing today.
Alright, poem starts in 3... 2... 1!
I look up at the moon tonight, our friendly satellite. It casts upon the whole wide world, a haunting silver light. 🌕 It brightens dark and inky ways with soft and shiny rays. I wonder what it would be like to go up there someday 🚀 I wonder how our blue cocoon would look like from the moon. How it would feel to jump and hike its craters and its dunes. 👩🚀 The gravity that's barely there. The lack of any air. The sights I'd see - I can't deny, I would just stop and stare. 👀 I feel a sense of pure delight and pause a bit to write about my giddy thoughts as I look at the moon tonight. 💭
That's it!

This is a place where I share something cool to read, something cool to listen to, and something cool to watch! The underlined words are links that you can click to visit the recommended content.
1. Check out Symbols to Copy : Ever had to type a mathematical operator or a symbol and not known how to do it?
≃∑∞≓⋎⋙⅘✠
Symbols to Copy is the solution for you. Simply search for the symbol you need, copy it from the site, and paste into your document. It is as simple as that!
2. Listen to “Damn Interesting” (Apple Podcasts | Google Podcasts): Some discoveries end up fulfilling you more than most. I discovered Damn Interesting in Tom Scott’s newsletter, when he recommended a long form article from the site. I discovered that they also release their articles as podcasts, and I WAS SO NOT PREPARED for the amazing narrative and production quality of this podcast. It is a nicely thought-through, well-produced podcast with fascinating subjects and fantastic narration.
I recommend you start out with this story of a Portuguese businessman who scammed his way to becoming the wealthiest in the country.
3. Watch Everything Everywhere All At Once: The less I spoil about this epic movie, the better. Just know that it stars the lovely Michelle Yeoh, has a multiverse adventure at its core, and a beautiful family drama at its heart. Yet it has some of the most exciting visual effects, action, and mind-bending concepts you have probably ever witnessed in a movie. This is the best movie I have watched in the past 3 years and I can’t recommend it enough.
Watch it now!
I would love it if you also shared some fun stuff that you love to read/ listen to/ watch across the internet, down in the comments.
See you next week!
Sorry for the typo in the poem! I've corrected it in the post but my email subs would have seen it.
I'm super embarrassed about it and will be more careful with my editing going forward! 🙏
I saw that trailer, but decided I don't really find it interesting. Funny how different people are! :)
