This weekend, I hung out with my favorite cousin. As time has flown by, I have always pictured her as that tiny adorable little girl who threw tantrums and said things that were too cute to be true.
But this time, I realized - she is as old as I was back when I first stepped into the corporate world as an employee. And that’s true for her as well, this is her first year as a corporate employee.
A corporate employee! Someone involved in the economic machine, working on problems defined by other people, exhibiting professionalism, hustling for hours every day. My little cousin.
I don’t know what this feeling is called, but I do know it is a feeling of immense pride and joy. And today’s poem is an attempt to write that feeling down.
Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!
I saw you tiny, quirky, whiny, growing up so bright and shiny. Now here you are, your life's just started, those years of childhood have departed. I see you make some life decisions grappling with tough emotions. I hear you talk about your future as you're surging faster, sooner. I watch you deal with wild successes failure too, as life progresses. I find you making up your story parts of shame and parts of glory. As life sometimes needs more balancing, you say, "Make it more challenging!" When some problems need some solving - you, my dear, keep on evolving. Brick by brick I witness as you build your universe I'm lucky to be part of it and write it in this verse. 🥰🥰
That’s it! Thanks for reading edition no. 93 of Hello Universe.

Some Fun Stuff
This is where I share something cool to read, something cool to listen to, and something cool to watch! Click on the underlined words to visit the links.
1. Read “Town Crier”: Town Crier is a satirical publication that makes you giggle at its witty observations about the world we live in. The author has given a great tagline to the newsletter - “The world as we see it”. I especially love the “Crier Quotes” featured at the start of each edition. Yesterday’s edition had this Crier Quote:
Now you know what you’re getting haha.
Subscribe to Town Crier today, it’s free!
2. Listen to Whisper Echo by Jürgen Paape: 2022 was the year in which I finally came around to appreciating and enjoying House music. The second best house track I have found is the one featured today. This track is like a growing feeling of beautiful sensations. Goes down smooth, highly recommended! Oh, and be on the lookout for the best House track I’ve ever listened to. It will be featured in the next edition of Hello Universe. I think only
from knows about that one. 😋3. Watch “A Brief History of Space Travel in Science Fiction” by Quinn’s Ideas: I thoroughly enjoyed this deep dive into science fiction classics. It was great to even see the mention of the space travel stories I had heard growing up about the Ramayana, combined with discussions of the classic scifi authors like H.G. Wells (whose writing influenced me so much that I wrote about it here), and of course the legends like Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke. Great video, great channel, highly recommended!
That’s it for this week, see you next Tuesday!
