Today's poem is about that wonderful feeling that the first rains of the season bring to your heart.
Alright, poem starts in 3β¦ 2β¦ 1!
βπ§π§β It pitters and patters on roofs and the roads, with buzzing mosquitoes and loud croaking toads. A resonant cauldron of percussive sounds, with rolling deep thunder that slaps super loud. βπ§π§β A downpour that pours down a sizable size, through air that feels heavy, through soggy grey skies. The light is surreal, the water surrounds, the drops and the puddles take over the grounds. βπ§π§β The petrichor smell that you just want to taste. Relaxed, loose, and easy, you're feeling no haste. A steaming fresh beverage, some hot tasty food, add those to the picture, and life feels so good. βπ§π§β Give up all your worries, let stress disappear. Come treat all your senses, 'cause monsoon is here. βπ§π§β
Thatβs it!

This is a place where I share something cool to read, something cool to listen to, and something cool to watch! The underlined words are links that you can click to visit the recommended content.
1. Read βTone Knobβ by Nick Parker : This is a newsletter about how brands talk. Nick covers some outstanding examples that you may not even have thought of, and brings out a unique point of view on copywriting. My day-job is as a marketer, so this is naturally one of my favorite Substacks. Check it out!
2. Listen to βExtreme Northern Lightsβ by Majeure : Man, this is such an amazing track! Actually, calling it just a musical track does it a disservice, this is more like a soundscape that takes you places. Highly recommended, especially as a companion to todayβs poem. Check it out! (Youtube link above, Spotify link below).
3. Watch βI've had this idea for over two years and finally made it because it was easier than deciding not toβ by Joel Haver : It is difficult to say anything specific about someone like Joel Haver because of his prolific and eclectic body of work. I think heβs my absolute favorite creator on Youtube. His videos come from a sincere and happy place. Watching him cheers me up. Check him out now!
Thatβs it for this week. Thanks for reading Hello Universe. See you next Tuesday!
Lovely poem (I'm late reading it). Also very funny that I read it on the day that heat records in Northern Europe (The Netherlands, Belgium, UK) are set to be shattered. We could use a bit of pitter patter here. But your poem brings a lot of freshness that really helps.
Superb poem to compliment the current weather !
