A future version of me will read this poem someday. Hopefully it’ll help him know who I dreamt he would become.

I’m curious to know - what do you imagine your future self to be like? Before you read today’s edition, drop me a short, one line answer. You can also consider sharing your thoughts as a comment. I reply to all comments with a mini poem, so today might be your turn! 😀

Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!

He shakes their hands, and smiles his smile.
A wholesome happy man.
He charms them all with simple style
and makes each one a fan.

He stands under the spotlight bright
and gives his hearty speech.
He gets things done with all his might
in wholehearted outreach.

A man of worth and virtue deep.
A character of gold.
A man, you know, who'd always keep
his word, however old.

This guy, for now, is fiction,
just a daydream that I see.
But deeply, with conviction
I do hope, some day, it's me.

That’s it! Thanks for reading edition no. 108 of Hello Universe!

Some Fun Stuff

This is a place where I recommend read-worthy, hum-worthy, and watch-worthy content from across the internet. The underlined words are links that you can click to access my suggestions:

1. Check out this Galaxy Simulator: Create and modify your own realistic galaxy. Be amazed as you see how tiny each star feels and yet how meaningful the interactions are between each of them as you change the parameters. It’s a beautiful little canvas to explore infinity. Check it out now!

Run a galaxy in your browser. Click the image to visit.

2. Listen to Rain by Fat Freddy’s Drop: That sax is made in heaven. 18 minutes of pure bliss. Listen now!

3. Watch this famous testimony to Congress by Mr. Rogers: Seeing people like this who can change the mind of an uptight Congressman with their calm demeanour and clarity of vision., inspire me to think the thoughts that lead to poems like the one I shared today. What an amazing man! Mr. Rogers was truly a gem.

That’s it for this week, see you next Tuesday!
