This poem is about the journeys that life can take you on!
Alright, poem starts in 3β¦ 2β¦ 1!
"Life's too short for caution, dude!",
declared the man with glee.
And with this cheery attitude,
he travelled overseas.
π§³π’π
He had no plan, this reckless man,
he had no safety nets.
He just knew life could be more than
a life with zero bets.
π€π€π€
So off he went to shores unseen
and mountains high above.
To craft a life that he had been
waiting to live and love.
ππ
Well, he discovered that this life
was challenging indeed.
And loneliness, distress and strife,
were always guaranteed.
π₯π’
He doubted his decision, too,
he doubted everything.
But slowly, surely, all anew,
he spread his wondrous wings.
πͺπͺ
Weeks and months and years flew by,
the man grew wise and old.
And oftentimes a girl or guy,
asked if they too, could be so bold.
ππ
"Life's too short for caution, friend!"
advised the wise old man.
And with this cheery attitude,
a new story began.
π π

Some fun stuff:
This is a place where I share something cool to read, something cool to listen to, and something cool to watch! The colored words are links that you can click to visit the recommended content.
Check out theanimaleats by Kristin Lueke: Iβve just joined this great program by Substack (the platform on which I publish my poems). Itβs called Substack Go, and itβs put me in touch with some amazing, talented writers on the platform. One of them is Kristin, who I can best describe as an owner of large quantities of energy, optimism, and charm! She describes her publication βtheanimaleatsβ, as a letter to the world she loves. It is full of whimsical musings, thoughtful poetry, and happy stories. I love it lots, and Iβm sure you will too, so subscribe already!
Listen to Twenty Thousand Hertz:Β This is a lovingly crafted podcast that reveals the stories behind the world's most recognizable and interesting sounds. I became an instant fan once I listened to their two part series on the sonic branding of HBO (Part 1 | Part 2). It is one of those pieces of content that helps you appreciate the subtle beauty in the world around you, and it totally worth a listen! Go, listen to it now! Watch The Green Planet on BBC: Any nature series by the BBC is great. Add to it the team who made Planet Earth, and Planet Earth II, and itβs exceptional. Add to it the charming voice-over of Sir David Attenborough, and itβs MAGICAL! This series captures timelapse footage, that for the first time, lets us see plants behave just like animals - cooperating, competing, climbing, strangling, cleaning, and eating - they do it all! Watching this show has been a perspective-unlock for me, and I now have a new-found appreciation for our green buddies! Watch now!
I would love it if you also shared some fun stuff that you love to read/ listen to/ watch across the internet, down in the comments.
See you next week!
Punit! π What a lovely, lilting and playful poem. Shel Silverstein vibes. Here's one of my all-time favorite little internet treasures, an art student's thesis animation from 2006. Terribly whimsical (and spoiler: EMOTIONAL) bit of visual storytelling. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdUUx5FdySs&ab_channel=Madyeti47
Thank you so much for the love! β₯οΈ
