Today’s poem contains my thoughts as I drift off to sleep.

I lie down and think
of the day that has passed.
The moments that flutter,
the words that don't last.

How often I err
and how often I'm wrong.
How often I'm weak
when I could have been strong.

I want to be better,
I want to be nice.
I want to be more
and I do want to rise.

So I lie down and think
of the day that went by.
I plan to do better
I do plan to try.

I promise myself,
and softly I say,
"I will make tomorrow 
a much better day!"
