Today's poem is an updated version of a poem I publish each time I meet my most favorite person in the whole wide world - my niece. I used to write about a version of her that was the child I saw her grow up as, but now as she grows older into someone more responsible and worldly, I am writing this updated version to suit her current self.
I hope you see in these words the reflection of someone important to you as well, dear reader.
Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!
“What do you like, what will you do? I see you are now someone new. Someone who knows what world you're in, and what it feels to lose or win. We'll visit places big and small, and marvel how you're growing tall. I'll hear your stories, play your games, and get a sense of your big brain. You'll flourish like a tree in spring, as you go out and spread your wings. The world will be your oyster, yes, and I'll see you find your success. I love you, love you, love you so!" You say it as you watch them soar. You see it as they fill their cup, with time, the child is growing up.
That's it! Thanks for reading edition 212 of Hello Universe.
