Last week you received Hello Universe on a Sunday instead of a Tuesday. There were two reasons for it:
I was totally out of sync with time.
It felt like the right time to publish that specific poem which was so full of happiness!
The reason for those two points is very simple.
I was out with friends! In a new city! Our first long trip together in 7 years!
It was an exceptional experience and it deserves a whole book about itself.
Now the thing is - back in 2020, I had just started putting my thoughts down as poems. Also back then, I was super upset for not being able to hang out with these same friends due to the pesky pandemic. So I'd written a poem then to process my thoughts and celebrate our friendship.
Today, let's read that poem! Send it along to a friend or two who are close to you, and I'm sure they'll love it too.
Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!
I'm missing the time we hung out everyday. It's not the same now that we live far away. Sometimes you are grinding away at your work. Sometimes I forget to reply. (like a jerk) Sometimes you're with someone who could be The One. Sometimes I am cooking, or you're out to run. But it is the sometimes when we can hang out. When I'm in your city or you come about. Whatever the place or the mood or duration. There's infinite joy in all our conversations. And that's when I think, "Maybe it's not the same, but we can't just go back to lost times again, What matters is all of this magic that still lives on between us, and so you know that we'll make time for each other till the very end." For you are for now and forever My Friend. :)
That's it!
I hope you'll send this to at least one close friend who means a lot to you.
This was edition 63 of Hello Universe. 63 weeks of writing to you and making new friends all over the world.
What a time to be alive!
Also, when was the last time you went on a long trip with friends? How was that experience? Where did you go and how much fun did you have? Share a comment below and tell the world about your experiences!
I'll see you next week. 🤗
My older son had a soccer tournament this past weekend that we traveled to. It wasn’t a long trip, but it was sure was fun. Nice to interact with all of the other parents as well.
Beautifully nostalgic, makes me reminisce about simpler times!
