I can’t believe that it’s been a whole week since last week’s crazy events. Bringing people together in the middle of the worst floods my city has seen, was an insane life experience. All it took was the love and support of an awesome family, great friends, and the ability to stop the negative part of my brain while it went “You know what would be great right now? How about we just quit? Let’s just stop.”
That silly negative voice in my head is what today’s poem is about.
Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!
The hardest thing you'll ever do is fight the fight within. The fight against your will to quit or just to not begin. The fight to take a forward step when staying put seems fine. The fight to push a solid wall across the finish line. This tussle's tough, it's quite a slog, your energy it drains. But choose to fight through all that fog, and victory remains! For out there lurk some sneaky foes, all set to trip your feet. But none can topple or oppose when you've got you to meet! Your inner voice, once trained to cheer, will be your greatest friend. So wage that war, and persevere, you'll triumph in the end!

Some Fun Stuff
This is where I share something cool to read, something cool to listen to, and something cool to watch! The underlined words are links that you can click to visit the recommended content.
1. Create something fun on Weavesilk: A relaxing website that has a trippy canvas on which you can draw your masterpiece. It’s great fun on a rainy afternoon. Check it out!
2. Listen to Living With The Gods: A beautiful podcast series hosted by the former Director of the British Museum, Neil Macgregor. This show gave me a deep appreciation for the beliefs of cultures from around the world. One of the episodes talks about the enchanting Vanuatuan tradition of an elder priest literally weaving their culture’s traditions and lessons into the braids of a young boy as he grows into a man. It is just so fascinating. Check it out!
3. Watch “Why Lawrence of Arabia Still Looks Like a Billion Bucks”: Let me be honest with you - I had not seen Lawrence of Arabia till last week. For a film maniac like me to not have seen a masterpiece of this level was just a blasphemous act, and I have now atoned for it by seeing the extended version. And my goodness, what an exceptional piece of art it is! This movie is a cinematic achievement, and the video linked below is a reminder of why it is so. Watch this video and maybe rewatch the movie too!
That’s it for this week, see you next Tuesday!
Wow, trying to fight the fight within - I can so relate, Punit!
