My recent trip subjected me to a long period of jet lag. I took a couple of weeks to recover my sleep cycle and get back to normal.
The best part of sleeping with a jetlagged mind used to be the sheer variety of entertainment in my dreams. And those entertaining dreams are the subject of today’s poem.
I’m curious to know - What’s been your most entertaining dream?
Leave a comment below and share your thoughts with me and the Hello Universe community. I reply to all comments with a mini poem, so let’s have a conversation!
Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!
Everyday before I wake,
I travel realms and places fake.
A fiction bursting at its seams.
A world of weird and crazy dreams.
It's fake but feels so real somehow,
when I see an eight-legged cow,
upon a fiery, blazing farm,
with headless chickens, full of charm.
With wizards, lizards, dragons, crimes.
With sights of past and future times.
With stadiums full of sporty teams.
A world of weird and crazy dreams.
And then I think, that if I try,
that if I try, I could just fly!
I give in fully, spread my arms!
And then
.
.
.
I hear the damned alarm.

Some Fun Stuff
This is a place where I share something cool to read, something cool to listen to, and something cool to watch! The colored words are links that you can click to visit the recommended content.
1. Read Public Domain Review: A fantastic way to discover recent history as it becomes a part of the public domain. I loved reading this article about CV Raman, the Nobel Laureate, who wondered why the sea was blue. There are many more such gems on the website, and you should check it out!
2. Listen to Prototype by Paul Sabin: A short, 1 min 42 sec track with a haunting tune and foot tapping beats. What more can one ask for?!
3. Watch “The British Conquest of India” by Strategy Stuff: As an Indian, the historical perspective of my nation that I have explored has obviously been biased strongly by a sense of nationalism. Hence, the British conquest of India has always been a subject for which I have only seen one side. This video by Strategy Stuff deftly explains how the conquest was seen by the British and the East India Company, and weaves a sturdy narrative driven by politics and ambition.
That’s it for this week, see you next Tuesday!
You are lucky to remember your dream. I just forget them, 😔
Such a fun punchline, Punit! And of course all wonderful words, as always! 😊
