Each year in December, I look back on some of the poems I wrote throughout the year and republish some of my favorites. However, I'm breaking that tradition today, particularly because I had the blessed experience of visiting a few villages today, and felt inspired to write about it on the way back home.
So that's what today's poem is about.
Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!
The air is much purer the roads not so wide. Out here in the pretty countryside. Milk straight from the udders, green fields left and right. Out here in the pretty countryside. The bonds are much stronger no prayers denied. Out here in the pretty countryside. Their arms full of strength their hearts full of pride. They're here in the pretty countryside.
That's it! Thanks for reading edition 195 of Hello Universe.
When was the last time you visited the countryside? What did you take away from that experience? Let me know in the comments below.
I'm writing this while still on the road, so no Some Fun Stuff today.
That's it for this week. See you next Tuesday!
Very nice
The countryside around Newtown, Ct was very lovely. I remember running on a beautiful August day in 1981 for miles, seeing nothing except lovely trees as I ran along the highway for miles. I started out to do a daily run of about 12 miles and the air was so pure that I was invigorated nd wound up doing a marathon run of over 26 miles.. When I wrote about it in a book that was published many years later, I called it The Creator's Marathon.
