Growing up is a strange sensation. It makes you aware of the finite time you have on this planet. It gives you perspective on the life choices you have made so far and where they have brought you.

You become more conscious of the impact of risks. You feel joy, fear, pain, sadness, love, happiness- all in different, more nuanced ways.

Your body starts telling you how you’ve treated it and how it needs to be treated if you want to be healthy going forward. Food starts tasting different. The world changes, and you see yourself changing with it. And through it all, the only thing you keep thinking is:

What future am I making for myself and my loved ones?

Is it a good future? Is it one with joy? Is it the right choice out of the millions I could have made? Is it going to make me happy?

And if these are your thoughts too, then today’s poem is for you, dear reader!

Alright, poem starts in 3… 2… 1!

As time pulls me forward
to lands unknown.
As I see the fruits
of the seeds I had sown.
⏳⌛️

I wonder and think of
the days I will see.
I wonder and think of
the man I will be.
🤔💭

The life that awaits me
is full of surprises.
It's full of new journeys,
it's full of new prizes.
🛣️🏆

The road may grow weary,
with lessons and scars,
but each step reminds me,
I reach for the stars.
⭐️⭐️

So I'll keep on walking,
with heart open wide,
embracing the changes,
with hope as my guide.

It scares me a little
to think what will come.
But I am so ready,
to be, to become!
